"The reward for me is giving the young people a different life experience and knowing no matter how long they're with you they're going to take something positive away"

John and Belinda's decision to become foster carers was influenced by Belinda's experience of being in care when she was younger. They have been fostering teenagers for over four years:

"I personally feel that teenagers are just very exciting young people. It's never a dull moment. You get your ups and downs as you do in every part of life. I feel it's a privilege to be a part of their lives. I find the most challenging part understanding their behaviour.

"Training is crucial because fostering is a job, but a job from the heart. It is extremely hard work but the rewards overwhelm this."
